David M. Mysliwiec, CPA, CFP®, PFS, CSEP
David is the firm’s Tax Shareholder and Financial Specialist and currently supervises all tax and financial planning services. He has directed these departments since he became Tax Manager in 1999.
Education and Experience David graduated from Siena College in 1989 with a BBA degree in Accounting. Prior to that, in 1987 he graduated from Hudson Valley Community College with an associates degree. He spent 5 years as a tax analyst/reviewer for the largest fee-based financial services firm in the United States, where he assisted in providing advice to CEOs, entertainers and other high net worth individuals. David has since accumulated 19 years of public accounting experience. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1998, a Certified Financial Planner since 2001, a Personal Financial Specialist since 2002, and a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning since 2004. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Planning Association, National Association of Tax Professionals, was listed as an expert tax practitioner in The Directory of Tax Professionals 2003 and named to the National Register's Who's Who in Executives and Professionals for appearance in 2004-2005 edition.
Professional and Community Service David is active in many organizations including the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Sons of the American Legion, the Mechanicville-Stillwater Little League, Mechanicville Football Booster Club, the Mechanicville PTA, the Coalition of Fathers and Families NY, Inc., and the American Coalition for Fathers and Children. He is the current Treasurer of the statewide Coalition of Fathers and Families NY, Inc., and is the past Treasurer and past Board Member of the Financial Planning Association of Northeastern New York, the Mechanicville-Stillwater Little League, the Side-by-Side Theater Company, Inc., the Capital District Chapter of the Fathers' Rights Association of New York State, Inc. (FRANYS), and is also past Treasurer of the statewide FRANYS Board.
Family and Leisure Activities David lives with his three sons in the City of Mechanicville. David's wife, Gwen, passed away in August, 2011, and he now spends much of his time pursuing fundraising for Caring Together, Inc., the ovarian cancer group that he and Gwen supported for over 6 years. He also supports the arts, including Proctor's Theater, Schenectady Civic Players and various other local and regional groups. On occasion, David enjoys playing pool, throwing darts, basketball, baseball, football and home improvement projects with his sons.
